Nanophotonics Research Opportunities at CDPT NTU, Singapore
The Optical Science Of Nanomaterials (OSON) group [https://www1.spms.ntu.edu.sg/~oson/], part of the Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore has several immediate openings for Senior Research Fellows, Research Fellows and PhD Students in the following areas:
- Physics and applications of superconducting single photon detectors
- Imaging and ranging at single-photon level
- Quantum and topological integrated photonics
- Light-emitting polaritonic materials and systems
- Metamaterials and artificially structured light
Senior Research Fellows and Research Fellows will assume roles of Project Leaders, from whom we expect creative and inquisitive mind and conceptual thinking. Candidates shall possess a PhD degree or equivalent and demonstrate strong background and exceptional research track records in the field of in photonic technologies, solid state physics, nanotechnology, quantum optics, topological physics, artificial intelligence or other relevant disciplines. Posts will be offered for the initial period of one or two years with possible extension, subject to review. Competitive salary is negotiable depending on experience.
PhD Students shall be bright, ambitious and hardworking individuals to join our team of scientists engaged in high-risk, high return research on the crossroads of nanotechnology, photonics and fundamental solid state quantum physics. PhD research studentships are offered with competitive packages. We expect applications from first class graduates in physics, engineering or materials science. PhD studentships come with competitive support packages and will commence in January or August 2026.
According to the QS World University Rankings NTU is ranked 12th in the world and 3rd in Asia. CDPT, a part of The Photonics Institute at NTU, hosts about 10 research groups of 40 researchers in a cluster of high-end nanophotonics and quantum laboratories and nano- prototyping and characterization cleanroom, developing new photonic technologies with an outlook of 15+ years. Working at CDPT provides exceptional personal development opportunities in a vibrant international environment (Learn more at www.nanophotonics.sg ).
No application deadline is set as the posts will be filled upon availability of suitable candidates. Formal application for the posts shall be submitted to [email protected]. For informal queries please write to CDPT Research Manager, Dr Aik Chan ([email protected]).
