NBS faculty wins prestigious award for the development of Korean business administration and management studies
Professor Kang Jun-koo, faculty of the Nanyang Business School (NBS) banking & finance division, recently won the 2021 Sangnam Business Scholar's Award from the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration.

Founded in 1956, it is the largest business administration research organisation in Korea with 9,000 members. To recognise the contributions of former and current academics to the development of Korean business administration and management studies, the organisation initiated annual awards in 1995. The award is the highest distinction by the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration to acknowledge and appreciate an outstanding scholar selected from all fields of business, based on one's academic, educational, and social contributions. Past winners include the former education minister, the CEO of the Korea's largest bank, and presidents of top Korean universities.
Professor Kang is also the first winner affiliated with an international educational institution –Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. When asked about his thoughts on receiving this award, Professor Kang extended his gratitude to NBS, specifically NBS Dean, Professor Christina Soh, Professor Gillian Yeo and Professor Lau Sie Ting for their support and encouragement, both for his research and academic activities over the years.
"Given that there are many other scholars who deserve this award, I feel honoured to receive this award. I will continue to do my best to help and support young academics outperform in their research activities," he added.
