NBS Knowledge Lab Webinar - Carbon Credits and the Race to Net Zero

Carbon Credits and the Race to Net Zero
27 Jun 2024 12.30 PM - 01.30 PM Virtual Alumni, Current Students, Industry/Academic Partners, Public

In this NBS Knowledge Lab session, our panel will explore the world of “carbon credits”. Beginning with the principles and science behind “net zero”, we will examine different markets —regulatory and voluntary — as well various project types that avoid, reduce, and remove greenhouse gasses. These projects generate “credits” that firms can purchase or trade to offset (or inset) their own emissions. The session will also address significant challenges, including measurement and verification, permanence, and leakage. The panel will review current efforts where suppliers and buyers are working together to establish a high-integrity based carbon market.
