Professor Ang Peng Hwa

Former Chair & ICA President (2016/17)

A media law and policy expert, Prof Ang has advised governments in Asia and authored Ordering Chaos. He is editor of the Asian Journal of Communication and served on the UN's Internet Governance group. He has advised governments across Asia, authored Ordering Chaos, and held roles at the UN, Harvard, and Oxford. 

Dr. Kym Campbell 

Senior Lecturer in Digital Storytelling, Broadcast & Cinema 

Dr Campbell blends academic and industry expertise, having worked with MediaCorp, BBC, and Bloomberg. He helped launch Channel News Asia and specializes in drama, documentary, and media education. He is also a recipient of the Nanyang Education Award. 

 

Asst Professor Kevin Chew   

Assistant Professor of Screen Media 

Dr Chew holds a PhD from Cambridge, where he also taught and conducted postdoctoral research. His expertise spans American, European, and Asian cinema, with a focus on screen cultures and visual storytelling. 

Dr. Pei Sze Chow 

Assistant Professor of Digital Culture and New Media 

Dr Chow researches AI’s impact on creative labour in Singapore and Asia. Her work examines how AI is represented in media and policy. She previously held academic positions at the University of Amsterdam and Aarhus University. 

 

Assoc Professor Ian Dixon 

Associate Professor of Film and Cultural Studies 

Dr Dixon is a filmmaker and academic with experience in Australian TV (Neighbours, Underbelly) and international cinema. He authored I’m Not a Film Star and lectures on film theory, screenwriting, and cultural studies. 

Professor Kwan Min Lee 

Korea Foundation Professor in Contemporary Korean Society & UX Lab Director 

Professor Lee is a leading scholar in UX research, HCI, and digital culture. Formerly a VP at Samsung Electronics, he has published extensively, led $12M+ in funded research, and directs the Human AI-Interaction Lab (HAIL).

Professor Jack Qiu Linchuan 

Centre Director, Chair & Shaw Foundation Professor of Media Technology, WKWSCI 

 

Professor Jack Qiu Linchuan is an expert in digital media and social change across Asia and the Global South, Prof Qiu has authored over 120 publications and 10 books, including Goodbye iSlave. His work explores labour, class, and globalization, and has been translated into multiple languages.

 

Assoc Professor Brendan Luyt 

Associate Professor of Information Studies 

Dr Luyt’s research explores information access, the history of reading cultures, and Wikipedia as a social platform. He holds degrees in library science and political science from leading Canadian universities. 

 

Rhubini Kunasegaran 

Research Associate, ACRC 

Rhubini is an award-winning documentary producer with a decade of experience creating content for Netflix, CNA, and National Geographic. She recently co-produced The Professor podcast and holds an MA in New Media & Digital Cultures from the University of Amsterdam. 

Asst Prof Kuansong Victor Zhuang 

Assistant Professor of Disability Communication 

Dr Zhuang focuses on communication, media, and disability studies with a tech and inclusion lens. A former SG Enable researcher and Princeton Fung Global Fellow, his work engages with global perspectives on accessibility and media representation.
