Zaqy: I will continue to engage, better understand needs of Muslim community

New Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Zaqy Mohamad assured the Muslim community that he will continue to engage them and better understand their needs. Zaqy, who is currently Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, and Defence, took over from Faishal Ibrahim, who resigned from political office earlier on July 20. NTU associate professor and political commentator Walid Jumblatt Abdullah pointed out that Faishal took on his ministerial role at a time when a key objective was to strengthen the relationship between the community and the Government. He adding that Faishal had engaged all sorts of people, even those who disagreed with him.
