Who will win the Thai general election? Academics say winning the election doesn't guarantee governing the country

The Thai general election has entered a heated phase, and academics believe that the election results may again be inconsistent with the final governing arrangements and fail to truly reflect the will of the voters. Duncan McCargo, a Thai politics academic and a professor at the NTU School of Social Sciences, said that the norm in recent Thai elections is that who forms the government is often not the same as the election results.
