The US expands its list of "Chinese military enterprises," prompting Beijing to warn of a strong countermeasure
In response to the Pentagon's inclusion of Alibaba, Baidu, and other Chinese companies on its "List of Chinese Military Enterprises," alleging ties to the Chinese military, China's Ministry of Commerce warned that it would "take resolute and forceful countermeasures." Assoc Prof Dylan Loh from the Public Policy and Global Affairs at NTU Singapore, said this incident highlights the numerous difficulties in building a constructive strategic stability relationship between China and the United States, stemming from differing understandings.
