Sociology undergrads awarded Regional Winners at Global Undergraduate Awards

Congratulations to our Sociology undergraduates, Nurul Zahidah Abdullah and Nadiya Nesseer, for being Regional Winners for Asia at the Global Undergraduate Awards 2021!

Nurul Zahidah received the award for the Social Sciences: Sociology & Social Policy category for her paper, "My genetics, my identity: the impact of genetic ancestry on Southeast Asian identities." 

Meanwhile, Nadiya received the award for the Social Science: Anthropology & Cultural Studies category for her entry, "Malaysia's Marriage Revolution." Her paper was also Highly Commended.

The two students thanked their respective professors, Associate Professors Shirley Sun and Premchand Dommaraju, for their mentorship and supervision. 

Nurul Zahidah and Nadiya are presently in their final year of study and will graduate in 2022.
