Leaders from over 20 countries gathered in Tianjin for the SCO Summit, interactions among China, Russia, India and neighbouring countries drawing attention

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, China's key home-based diplomatic events this year, will be held in Tianjin next Sunday.  Observers said the interaction between the leaders of China, Russia and India will be one focus, and the participation of more leaders from Southeast Asian countries also reflects China's emphasis on its diplomacy with neighbouring countries.  Assoc Prof Dylan Loh at NTU said in an interview with Lianhe Zaobao that the SCO summit will be followed by a military parade , and foreign leaders who had originally planned to attend the parade had more reason to attend the summit. "Rather than the appeal of the summit itself, this reflects more of China's appeal and influence."
