News Chat Monday, August 18 @ 8:20am: Review of the 2025 National Day Rally

Following the new initiatives announced earlier during the National Day Rally held on Sunday evening, 958FM invited a panel of three speakers, including Dr Leong Chan-Hoong, Senior Fellow, Head of Social Cohesion Research Programme, RSIS and Asst Prof Ye Guangzhi, Division of Economics, School of Social Sciences, both from NTU Singapore. Dr Leong touched on how the new traineeship scheme will help fresh graduates gain the working experience that many jobs require, as it provides them with an opportunity to learn real-world skills and not just another internship. Meanwhile, Asst Prof Ye spoke regarding the Trump tariffs and the Singapore government’s strategies to adapt to the changing global economic uncertainty.
