PM Wong Assembles High-Performance Team, Names Chan Chun Sing, Edwin Tong, Desmond Tan, and Chee Hong Tat

Education Minister Chan Chun Sing, National Development Minister Desmond Lee, Culture, Community and Youth Minister Edwin Tong, and Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat have been reassigned to helm the Ministries of Defence, Education, Law, and National Development, respectively. In total, 13 office-holders have been moved to new portfolios. Assoc Prof Walid Jumblatt Bin Abdullah from NTU’s School of Social Sciences noted that the Education Minister role is highly public-facing, and Desmond Lee will now have many opportunities to build a strong public image, which could benefit his future political prospects.
