Three NTU students given zero marks for using AI in assignment
Three NTU students were given zero marks for using generative AI for a writing assignment in which use of AI tools is prohibited. A spokesperson from NTU’s School of Social Sciences said the school launched an investigation in April into three students for non-existent citations in their assignment. An NTU spokesperson said that as AI technology becomes more pervasive, the University aims to prepare students for a future shaped by technology. This includes adopting a pragmatic, guided approach to using Gen AI tools such as ChatGPT so that students can use these technologies responsibly.
