New book outlines Dutch economist Albert Winsemius' contributions to Singapore

CNA, Singapore Tonight, 10pm

Those in the know see him as Singapore's chief economic adviser during the nation's founding years. To the wider public, the life and contributions of Dutch economist Albert Winsemius have remained lesser known. This may change with the release of a new book. Put together by a team of economists from NTU led by NTU Albert Winsemius chair professor of economics Euston Quah, it draws on archive materials from Singapore and the Netherlands.

Speaking at the launch, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said it was Singapore’s openness to investment and people from all over the world that were critical to its success.
