NTU Social Sciences Hosts Singapore Model ASEAN Meeting 2025

The NTU School of Social Sciences (SSS) proudly hosted the Singapore Model ASEAN Meeting (SGMAM) 2025, at NTU, on 18 and 19 December, bringing together 36 selected youth delegates from universities and youth organisations across Singapore for a two-day national simulation of ASEAN diplomacy.

Delegates participated in role-play simulations of Senior Officials, Ministers, and Heads of Government, negotiating across ASEAN’s Political-Security, Economic, and Socio-Cultural pillars. The programme culminated in the adoption of a Youth Chairman’s Statement, reflecting collective insights into regional cooperation and diplomacy.

The conference featured keynote speakers and observers from government ministries, embassies, academia, civil society, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ASEAN Foundation, ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, and diplomatic missions in Singapore.

Proudly representing NTU SSS, PPGA Year 4 student Chiong Chon Wai,Darren, alongside Faith Ashley Chu and Lim Yu Xin, were selected as Country Coordinators and served on the Organising Committee, contributing to this ASEAN Foundation-endorsed youth diplomacy initiative.
