Wellness for All: NTU Students Host Migrant Workers’ Wellness Carnival
In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, 100 students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) organized a Migrant Workers’ Wellness Carnival at Kranji Recreational Centre. This event aimed to thank the migrant workers who have significantly contributed to the nation’s development.
The carnival featured a variety of engaging activities, including fun games and informative sessions on mental health and wellbeing. Workers received valuable tips on managing stress, improving sleep, and maintaining proper nutrition. Additionally, they enjoyed delicious food, received welfare packs, and underwent health screenings facilitated by Project Migrant Health Matters.
This student-led initiative was spearheaded by NTU SSS Club Community Engagement Directors Angela Chua and Mickel Tan. It was a collaborative effort involving several NTU student clubs, including the NTU ADM Student Club, the NTU EEE Club, and the ASE Club. The project also received support from CC0005 Healthy Living and Wellbeing lecturers, Ms Nurliyana and Mr Norman, as well as Project Migrant Health Matters.
The event was a resounding success, bringing a much-needed wellness boost to the migrant workers. Kudos to everyone involved in making this initiative a reality.
