China Xi Jinping’s first visit to India in years stirs hope but border tensions, tech curbs hinder full reset. Assoc Prof Dylan Loh, public policy and global affairs at NTU Singapore, characterised the Modi-Xi bilateral meeting as “a further step in pragmatic stability”, noting that “building proper strategic trust” remains difficult. The key, he added, would be to sustain communication and follow up from this meeting.
