Energy costs fall, residential electricity and gas prices to decrease first quarter next year

Residential electricity tariffs will fall three per cent in the first quarter of 2026 to 26.71 cents per kWh. Overall tariffs for all users are expected to be down 3.1 per cent, reflecting lower global fuel costs, especially natural gas. NTU Economics Asst Prof Chua Yeow Hwee said that if this trend continues, electricity prices are likely to remain relatively stable in the first half of 2026.
