Custodian Appreciation Day

Care and concern took centre stage at this year’s Custodian Appreciation Day, an annual initiative by our School of Social Sciences that was reimagined with a meaningful collaborative dimension. This year, SSS@NTU partnered with the School of Humanities, bringing together two disciplines united by a shared commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.

The event was organised to express sincere appreciation to NTU’s custodians, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment. Custodians were treated to hearty meals and thoughtfully curated care packs, and invited to enjoy a relaxed afternoon of games and light-hearted activities.

The occasion also provided opportunities for meaningful interactions between custodians, students, and colleagues. Students were particularly moved by the strong sense of camaraderie among the custodians, as many thoughtfully collected food and welfare packs on behalf of colleagues who were unable to attend.

This quiet gesture of care reflected the close-knit community spirit the event sought to honour. Here’s to more initiatives that bring care and concern to life across our campus.
