China starts rebutting South China Sea Ruling

China has repeatedly refuted statements from various countries in light of the 10th anniversary of the South China Sea arbitration ruling, with experts describing the issue as an ongoing political, diplomatic, legal, and public opinion struggle against countries supporting the ruling. NTU’s Assoc Prof Dylan Loh said Beijing had come up with domestic and international measures in anticipation of criticism from the Philippines. He said that China’s response will be multi-faceted, from maritime activity to legal, diplomatic, scientific and humanitarian means to reduce the internationalisation of the South China Sea dispute.
