Biden administration expands China’s import blacklist

The US Department of Homeland Security issued a statement on Friday announcing that 29 new Chinese enterprises were added to its blacklist, the largest increase since the list took effect in 2021. In an interview, NTU’s Asst Prof Dylan Loh said that the Biden administration has long sought a balanced strategy between strategic competition and exchange and cooperation opportunities. He said that Biden is hoping to promote policies within his power before the end of his term of office to avoid being regarded as a weak president.
