As China condemns the US capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, analysts say the implications for Beijing run far deeper across Latin America. With Maduro removed from power, questions now hang over the fate of that debt and the continued flow of oil, Dylan Loh, an associate professor of public policy and global affairs at Singapore’s NTU, told CNA. "US$60 billion in outstanding debt is not a tiny drop, but the bigger question is that this recovery and the continuous flow of oil is now in the hands of (China’s) adversary," said Loh, referring to the US.
