Assoc Prof Kei Koga Receives Runner-Up Prize for John Peterson Prize

We are delighted to share that A/P Kei Koga’s article, “Tactical hedging as coalition-building signal: The evolution of Quad and AUKUS in the Indo-Pacific”, has been awarded Runner-Up for the John Peterson Prize, which recognises the best article published in 2025 in the British Journal of Politics and International Relations (BJPIR).

BJPIR is a flagship journal of the UK’s Political Studies Association and publishes peer-reviewed scholarship across international relations, comparative politics, public policy, political theory, political economy and politics. It is also a leading international outlet for research on British politics. Each year BJPIR showcases and rewards the best article published by the Journal. The winning article is chosen by our Editorial Team and is directly accessible through SAGE’s website. The author(s) receives a £250 cash prize and the result is unveiled at a BJPIR reception/event at the PSA’s annual conference.
