APEC Economies China Studies Scholars Forum held in Guangzhou
From 11 to 13 Jun, the APEC Economies China Studies Scholars Forum was held in Guangzhou, with nearly 100 experts and scholars from APEC member economies gathering to discuss China's development and the shared future of the Asia-Pacific. Several scholars explored new drivers and pathways for further Asia-Pacific regional integration from the perspective of development cooperation. Liu Hong, Associate Vice President, International (Liaison & Coordination) of NTU in Singapore, proposed three key words for understanding Asia-Pacific regional interaction from a "global Asia" perspective: mobility, connectivity, and embedding. He believes that while APEC is centred on economic cooperation, it has evolved into a comprehensive regional cooperation platform covering multiple fields.
