National Healthcare Group and NTU jointly launch new master's degree programme
The National Healthcare Group and NTU have jointly launched a new master's degree programme to meet the country's demand for professional skills in hospice care. In this radio interview, Assoc Prof Andy Ho from NTU’s LKCMedicine and School of Social Sciences said all terminally ill patients have the right to receive comprehensive palliative care. However, the knowledge and training of medical staff in this area are currently insufficient. He said: "Every medical staff must be able to serve terminal patients in their work. If doctors, nurses, and social workers can take up this course, hospice care here will become better in the future." The new Master of Science (MSc) in Holistic Palliative Care targets full-time doctors, nurses and other medical staff.
