​SSS in the News | Ng Yew Kwang: Wall Street has a better understanding of economics than Trump

Prof Ng Yew Kwang, Albert Winsemius Chair Professor from NTU’s economics division, pointed out that Wall Street reacted badly to United States President Donald Trump’s recent announcement that the US would fight the trade​ imbalance it had with China. Prof Ng said a retaliation from China would result in huge damages to both sides, so China should exercise restraint or seek mediation from the World Trade Organisation.
