Biography
Dr Wai Chan’s research focus on psychosocial development of adults and older adults in different contexts, with particular attention to retirement preparation in the general population as well as ageing processes of caregivers in the context of developmental abilities. She has also examined outcomes of adults with special needs. She has been trained in multidisciplinary approaches. She obtained a Ph.D. with a dual title in Human Development and Family Studies/Gerontology at Purdue University. She also completed her first postdoctoral training at Waisman Center of University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently working on her second postdoctoral training at Faculty of Social Science of Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her publications appeared in American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Autism Research, and Ageing and Society.
