Abstract
The time we have as a graduate or postdoctoral student can be the best years of our lives – or the worst! This presentation aims to provide graduate students with a survival guide for helping them through their “golden age of research”, highlighting best practices for ultimately maximizing chances of success in the academic market. Topics to be covered include publishing journal articles, applying for academic positions and the job talk, reviewing journal articles, goal-setting, gaining teaching experience, and time management.
