​News | The Big Read: In the pursuit of technology, what happens to workers left behind?

Despite the best efforts of some companies, there remain pockets of individuals averse to technology for fear of being unable to cope, as TODAY’s interviews with workers over the past month showed. NTU labour economist Assoc Prof Christos Sakellariou said interventions facilitating re-employment and employability of those hit hardest by technology – such as older workers – would be a necessary ingredient. Another approach is to keep identifying specific groups that need income support, to ensure workers earn a decent wage.
