A study with about 100 Singaporeans showed that single elderly aged 65 and above need $1379 every month for their basic expenses, including expenses for a quality and independent life. The study is led by Asst Prof Ng Kok Hoe from NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. The research team also includes Assoc Prof Teo You Yenn from NTU School of Social Sciences.
