​News | PAP should draw candidates in their 50s, 60s, to inject diversity into leadership: Veteran journalist

A National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) dialogue session discussed the challenges and opportunities that Singapore's fourth-generation leaders would face amid a shifting global order and technological disruption. Veteran newspaper editor Han Fook Kwang said the PAP should draw some of its candidates from those in their 50s and 60s, who bring different sets of skills from their jobs and “life in general”. 

Asst Prof Laavanya Kathiravelu from NTU spoke about low-wage migrant workers as well as the need to strengthen protection for foreign domestic workers. She suggested that the provisions of the Employment Act, could be extended to them.
