Expert: US may impose technology and trade sanctions against Hong Kong

Singapore economists and academics concluded that the US is mostly likely going to sanction Hong Kong in areas of technology and trade. At a sharing session, Prof Tan Kong Yam from the division of Economics at NTU pointed out that neither the US nor China want Hong Kong to experience major shocks. Prof Tan believes that Hong Kong’s security law will ‘sanitise’ Hong Kong in the long run and enable the state to stabilise.
