Thrust A - Asset Health Modelling and Planning

Research on asset strategy and management solutions that take into consideration asset criticality, health analytics, network data and risk-cost benefits.

Leveraging big data, this will enhance system planning through optimisation of asset renewal, maintenance and operation of the grid in a cost- and operationally-effective manner.

Thrust B - Component Degradation Studies

Assessment on component and material degradation of key equipment (cables, switchgear and transformers) that impact electricity reliability.

Scientific data modelling of key equipment to optimise asset performance and useful life, and identify leading indicators of component degradation to enhance network reliability.

Thrust C - Failure Mode Analysis

Develop solutions in preventing equipment failure and enhance network performance by performing failure mode analysis and optimise testing, operation and maintenance of the network.

It will also take into consideration any adjustment and optimization of the maintenance cycle and condition monitoring cycle index.

Thrust D - Enhanced Condition Monitoring

Advanced condition monitoring techniques and solutions for power system components which will pro-actively detect anomalies and pre-empt equipment faults.

This will prevent equipment from failing in service through condition-based maintenance and improve the resilience of the national electricity grid.
