Bin was trained as a structural biology at NTU (BSc '06, PhD '10) and further completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, supported by the IDI-GSK Fellowship and Charles King Fellowship. He is an EMBO Global Investigator and NRF Investigator, Singapore, and known for his contributions in solving structures of MDA5, MAVS-CARD, NLRP1-CARD, RIP2-CARD, L7-Tir, Uromodulin, OaAEP1 and MmConnectase, etc.. Currently, his research focuses on (i) resolving atomic structures of helical signaling complexes involved in innate immunity; (ii) as well as (structure-based) repurposing nucleic acids/protein modification enzymes for various biotechnological applications.
