Pursued courses stackable to FlexiMasters in Early Childhood Education

Please share with us your professional life’s journey and at which point in your career did you aspire to pursue this FlexiMasters?

It has been my childhood dream to be an early childhood educator. It has been a blessing to be able to live my dream each day when I walk into the classroom. The early childhood classroom is a dynamic place where every child learns and grows differently. In the pursuit to be the best teacher for every child under my charge, I decided to embark on this continued educational journey.

How did you find studying in NTU?

My time at NTU has been nothing short of amazing and eye opening! I look forward to attending class every week. This opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded professionals keeps me grounded and at the same time ignites my passion for teaching and learning. The rich sharing of personal experiences extends the learning beyond the four doors of the lecture room.

Share with us a memorable experience you had during your time at NTU.

The first day of lesson was conducted via Zoom and it was definitely the most memorable one. It was a beautiful memory because we started the lesson awkwardly as strangers, continued the discussions professionally as educators and ended it blossoming as critical friends. I left the Zoom session with more friends than I had started with and the marvel was it happened in 3 hours, virtually.

Which aspect of this certificate do you like the most?

I like the fact that the course does not solely focus on theoretically knowledge. My professor provided us with a conducive platform to apply this learnt knowledge to tackle the trials and tribulations we face as teachers. This certificate allowed me to widen my perspective on contemporary issues in the early childhood field.

How do you juggle family/working life with your studies?

Being a full-time educator, balancing family commitments and at the same time pursing my passion for lifelong learning is no walk in the park. But I am a firm believer of “If there is a will, there is a way”. This difficult yet fulfilling journey has been made possible with the love and support from my family, friends and colleagues. It is also essential to prioritize and have some me time.

Will you recommend PaCE@NTU’s programmes to your friends and family?

I would strongly urge adults to join the PaCE@NTU’s programmes. Despite holding a full-time job, I have proactively participated in events organized by PaCE@NTU as it is carefully planned with working professionals in mind. The team at PaCE@NTU is well-versed with the skills that working professionals require to be their best at their jobs!
