Dr Pin-Yuang Pien

President

Hurco Automation Ltd. Taiwan, Shanghai and Dynapath System Inc. U.S

This seminar will be chaired by A/P Wan Man Pun, Associate Chair (Research).

Seminar Abstract

Modern Computer Numerical Controls requires richer “intelligence” nowadays in addition to its traditional HMI plus G commands based motion plus PLC controls structure to help enhance the machines to the level of (1) higher geometrical precision (2) higher machining performance (3) less requirements on operator’s eligibility (4)less down time (5) being easily Integrated with modern factory management in harsher competitions.

In this seminar, the architecture of a well validated modern computer numerical controls is introduced with its featured modules in (a) automatic setup helper (b) NURBS based cutting path smoothing (c) Solid Model based conversational programming with CAPP (d) thermal compensation (e) IIOT in data and information flow  showing its competitiveness in helping its controlled machines surpass their competitors in the field.
