The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
(CoHASS) pays tribute to Professor Theng Yin Leng, President's Chair in
Information Studies at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information,
who passed away on 10 July 2026.
Throughout her distinguished career, Professor Theng left a
lasting impact on research, education, and society. An internationally
recognised scholar, she was widely respected for her pioneering work at the
intersection of technology, information studies and healthy ageing, leading
innovations that enhanced the well-being and quality of life of older adults.
Through her dedication to interdisciplinary research, mentorship, and
collaboration, she helped shape the field of information studies while inspiring
generations of students, researchers, and colleagues. Her remarkable legacy
will continue to inspire the wider academic community and future generations
for years to come.
