Conversations at the Edge: Welcoming Our UG Freshmen

On 11 September 2026, freshmen from across the four schools in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS) came together for Conversations at the Edge, the College’s first Undergraduate Freshmen Town Hall.

The event brought students from all four schools together to meet with peers outside of their own discipline, engage with faculty leaders, and to learn more about opportunities beyond the classroom.

Professor Jon Wilson, Dean of CoHASS, welcomed the freshmen and shared his perspectives on their journey at NTU. Chaired by Ms Yam Min Yee Angeline, Associate Dean (Students), the session also featured an open Q&A, giving students the opportunity to raise questions and hear directly from the Dean, faculty leaders and a final year senior student. The turnout saw freshmen connecting with one another throughout the afternoon, with conversations continuing over food and drinks after the session. 

Conversations at the Edge marked the start of the new academic year 2026, by bringing freshmen from across the four schools together and introducing them to the wider CoHASS community.
