Abstract:

Industrial automation is becoming more challenging with the irruption of new technologies and manufacturing paradigms. In this scenario, model-based approaches can help to provide a solid framework for automating large and complex systems, providing reliability and efficiency. Furthermore, the combination of emerging automation technologies and formal models can bring to new scenarios where the human is at the center of the industrial manufacturing process. In this talk, the use of formal models and collaborative robotics for the inclusion of people with motor disabilities in manufacturing operations and other industrial automation challenges are discussed.
