MSc in Cybersecurity (Applied Cybersecurity)
Cybersecurity is no longer confined to IT departments. It sits at the heart of business resilience, national security and digital innovation.
As organisations face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats not least posed by AI, the demand for properly trained cybersecurity professionals (who can secure systems, protect critical infrastructure and navigate emerging technologies) continues to grow.
Our new Master of Science in Cybersecurity (Applied Cybersecurity) builds on our established MSc Cybersecurity programme (launched in 2022-2023). We have since trained hundreds of graduates for cybersecurity roles. Our new refreshed curriculum reflects the realities of today's cybersecurity landscape- the new threat posed by tools and malware written by hackers experienced in AI.
This new program is designed for both midcareer professionals and also new university graduates. Our program syllabus covers both core technical modules such as computer and network security and cryptography (taught by our esteemed faculty) and also important practical electives such as AI in cybersecurity (new), security monitoring and operations, forensics, zero trust architecture (new) (to name just a few) taught by industry experts. This is our strength.
We are confident that our CCDS MSC applied cybersecurity programme prepares our MSc graduates well for the cybersecurity industry
From Foundations to Emerging Threats
Explore the technologies, strategies and security challenges shaping today's digital environment:
From computer security and digital forensics to AI-enabled defence, the curriculum is designed to address emerging cybersecurity challenges in an increasingly connected world.
Co-developed with experienced cybersecurity practitioners, selected modules are taught by industry experts who bring current practices and perspectives into the classroom.
Real-World Impact, From Day One
A defining feature of the programme is the two-semester Capstone Project, which may be completed through an industry internship or an applied cybersecurity project.
This provides students with the opportunity to deepen their expertise while tackling real-world cybersecurity challenges and integrating knowledge gained throughout the programme.

Built for an AI-Enabled Threat Landscape
Artificial intelligence is transforming the cybersecurity landscape. Organisations increasingly require professionals who understand both how AI can strengthen security operations and how AI systems themselves can become targets of attack.
The programme includes dedicated coursework exploring areas such as:
Graduates will be equipped to contribute to the development of secure and trustworthy digital systems in an AI-enabled world.
