Empowering Blockchain’s Future: NTU-CCTF Showcases Educational Leadership at the Ethereum Research Forum

On 29 September, the Ethereum Research Forum, organized by the Ethereum Foundation’s Academic Secretariat, was successfully held at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore. The forum aims to foster long-term collaboration between academia and the Ethereum community, promote diverse academic inquiry, and explore future research questions in blockchain. It attracted developers from around the world.

Among the invited academic speakers, Associate Professor Li Yi, Associate Director (Education) of the NTU Centre in Computational Technologies for Finance (NTU-CCTF), delivered a speech during the Research Showcase session. He introduced the organization and structure of NTU-CCTF, the status and development of its education programs, including the Master of Science in Blockchain (MSBT) and interdisciplinary PhD program, and presented ongoing research directions of the center’s scholars.

Associate Professor Li Yi also shared NTU-CCTF’s sustained efforts and achievements in building academic exchange platforms in recent years, including the successful organization of the 2024 NTU Blockchain Symposium and the upcoming Nanyang Blockchain Conference 2025. These initiatives have positioned Nanyang Technological University as an important international stage for blockchain academic exchange. In terms of industry-academia collaboration, Associate Professor Li highlighted the Capstone Project, which, through years of practical cases, has demonstrated its distinctive model of integrating theory with practice in the training of Master’s students.

Associate Professor Li Yi's presentation drew significant attention from both academic and industry attendees, further elevating NTU-CCTF’s global influence in blockchain education and research.

The forum also featured distinguished speakers from National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as industry representatives from Parsiq Network, Optimum, and Nethermind. Special sessions included interactive Q&A with Vitalik Buterin (Founder of Ethereum), Hsiao-Wei (Co-Executive Director of Ethereum Foundation), and Aya Miyaguchi (President of Ethereum Foundation), fostering deep dialogue between academia and industry.

Looking ahead, NTU-CCTF will continue to actively collaborate with the Ethereum Foundation’s Academic Secretariat and global partners to advance cutting-edge research and academic development in blockchain.
