Zimbabwe ambassador visits NBS

Her Excellency Sophia Nyamudeza makes a case for collaboration during an official visit

Her Excellency Sophia Nyamudeza, the ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe visited the Nanyang Business School on 31 Aug (2022). She was accompanied by her Deputy Viola Matongorere and Mr Ranveer Chauhan, Chairman, Board of Advisors of the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies. They were received by Amit Jain, Director of the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies and Assoc Prof Yougesh Khatri, Academic Director of the Nanyang Fellows MBA Programme at NTU.


Ambassador Nyamudeza was given a short tour of the Yunnan Gardens before Amit Jain briefed her of the work done by the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies. She briefed her hosts on the economic reforms underway in Zimbabwe and exchanged notes on what could be done to foster more and research on Zimbabwe and the larger Southern African region. Amit Jain hosted a lunch for the visiting delegation.

Ambassador Nyamudeza joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe in 1988. She previously served as the Deputy Permanent Representative at the Zimbabwe Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2006 – 2013). She is concurrently accredited to the Republic of Indonesia as well as to ASEAN.
