How will shifts in U.S. economic policy shape global markets in the years ahead?

Join the Nanyang Business School community for a fireside chat with Professor Michael Faulkender, former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. The session will be moderated by Professor Tan Kong Yam, Emeritus Professor of Economics at Nanyang Technological University and Chairman of APS Asset Management. In his previous role, he served as Chief Assistant to Dr Goh Keng Swee and held senior roles at the World Bank.

The discussion will explore the implications of rising geopolitical tensions, including the recent escalation between the United States and Iran, and how these developments may affect energy markets, inflation and financial stability. It will also examine rising U.S. debt, fiscal sustainability, and the growing use of tariffs, export controls and strategic trade policy in the global trading system.
