The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at NTU is a diverse school focusing on the connections between geosciences, ecology, society and Earth systems. Our approach integrates these disciplines to examine big environmental challenges both in Southeast Asia and globally. We conduct cutting-edge research on topics that include ecology, geohazards, climate change, sea-level rise, environmental sustainability, conservation of environment and biodiversity, and interactions between environment and society.

ASE ranked 13th globally for Environmental Sciences in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

The prestigious Nanyang Awards are given in recognition and celebration of the outstanding achievements and contributions of faculty, staff and students at NTU. This year, four awards went to staff members of ASE:

Mr Lee Wei Kit, field coordinator at ASE, received the Nanyang Service Award.

Professor David Wardle received the Nanyang Research Award.

Assoc Prof Benoit Taisne received the Nanyang Education Award, college level.

Dr Kyle Bradley received the Nanyang Education Award, school level.
