Prof Nikolay Zheludev, TPI Co-Director awarded 2022 Michael Faraday Gold Medal and Prize by Institute of Physics (IOP)

Professor Nikolay Zheludev, Co-Director of The Photonics Institute (TPI) and founding director of Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) has been awarded 2022 Michael Faraday Gold Medal and Prize by Institute of Physics (IOP), for his “international leadership, discoveries and in-depth studies of new phenomena and functionalities in photonic nanostructures and nanostructured matter”.

Professor Nikolay Zheludev is a pioneer and founding member of the discipline of nanophotonics. He is well recognised for “his experimental observations and in-depth studies of new phenomena and functionalities in nanostructured matter, characterised by an exceptional degree of novelty, breadth and impact”.

The Michael Faraday Gold Medal and Prize is awarded to physicists with international reputations who have made consistent contributions to experimental physics.
