Biography
Dr Praetorius Björk’s Ph.D. project focused on bio-behavioural markers of cognitive ageing, especially the role of APOE, gender, grip strength and subjective memory. He has a strong interest in research methods for examining age-related changes with focus of longitudinal designs for examining within-person processes. Since 2017 he has worked on different projects related to cognitive health and other areas of age-related health. The project “Memory Now and Then” examines 30-year longitudinal associations between subjective and objective memory. Another project focuses on levels and change in sexual- and relationship-satisfaction during the retirement transition by using data drawn from the Swedish population based study, Health, Ageing and Retirement Transitions in Sweden (HEARTS) Study. With data from the Swedish population-based study OCTO-twin, another project examines how early life and late life cognitive reserve influences normative age-related and mortality-related cognitive ageing processes. Finally, Dr Praetorius Björk is also involved in three projects of Coordinated Analysis with Replication (CAR) across 10 longitudinal studies that examine how physical and cognitive functioning changes together in later life using a multiple-study comparative framework. This is collaboration within The Integrative Analysis of Longitudinal Studies of Ageing and Dementia (IALSA) research network.
