In a speech at a forum on 6 Nov, NTU economics professor Tan Kong Yam talked about the United States trying to suppress China’s security and defence sector. He mentioned how Trump had underestimated the fighting capacity of the Chinese economy and overestimated American power in the US-China trade war as the US manufacturing sector declines.
