In a commentary, Assoc Prof Yip Sau Leng from NTU’s SSS, wrote that China should instead take on a two-prong approach in dealing with the increasing violence in Hong Kong. He said China ought to give the current Hong Kong administration the space to deal with the violence and to face-up to the political repercussion. At the same time, it should also start grooming a new generation of capable leaders to take over from the HK administration.
