A new chapter looks set to begin at the opposition Singapore People's Party (SPP), with its leader, former Potong Pasir MP Chiam See Tong, relinquishing his post at a recent party conference. To reinvent itself, the SPP needs to make clear its positions and policy alternatives on key issues to show how it can add value to Singapore's political system, said Asst Prof Walid Jumblatt from NTU's Public Policy and Global Affairs programme.
