Achievements & Awards

The Robotics Research Centre has obtained international reputation in the areas of medical robots, rehabilitation robots, biomimic robots, reconfigurable robots, humanoid robots, and also precision mechatronics and actuators. Some of the achievements made and awards received by our faculty members are as follows.


  • Prof. Louis Phee: Recipient of National Research Fund (NRF) Investigatorship Award 2016​. Awarded up to $3 million to pursue ground-breaking research.
  • Prof. Kin Huat Low: Demonstration of state-of-the-art interactive 12 UAV formation and synchronization flight in Singapore Airshow 2014 (16-21 Feb 2014) in Changi Airport
  • Prof. Louis Phee: Recipient of President’s Technology Award 2012
  • Prof. I-Ming Chen: Fellow of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineer (IEEE) and Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineer (ASME)
