Read moreNTU and British engineering firm Rolls-Royce have had a long-standing relationship since their first engagement in 2005. Nearly a decade after their first research partnership, NTU and Rolls-Royce raised their research alliance creating the Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab.
Launched with a joint investment of S$75 million, the Corp Lab is a collaboration between Rolls-Royce, NTU and the National Research Foundation as the first lab under Corp Lab @ University scheme. As a pioneering programme, the lab has successfully attained notable achievements and significant milestones in Phase 1 (2013-2018) in terms of world-class research and technology pull-through.
Highlights
Over the years, the Lab has evolved into a team of more than 300 top-level researchers and technical experts including Rolls-Royce staff and NTU faculty. The Lab also provides training to at least 150 full-time research staff, 40 PhD and 130 Master’s & undergraduate students.

Learn moreRolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab is presently in Phase 2 (2019 – 2024) with S$88 million focusing on five core research areas:
- Rolls-Royce Electrical (RRE),
- Manufacturing Technology (ManTech),
- Advanced Repair and Materials (ARMS),
- Data Analytics and Complex Systems (DACS), and
- Internet of Things (IoT).
Research in these fields is aimed at inventing more efficient and reliable energy delivery systems, developing innovative manufacturing, materials, and repair technologies to complement more robust power systems, and extracting information from equipment and processes so that operators can make timely and informed business critical decisions.
